artificial intelligence and sustainable recovery

On July 19, the AI Forum will once again be present at the Padova Fiere Convention Center.

On July 19, at the Padova Fiere Convention Center, the AI Forum is here again, an annual event for Italian companies with artificial intelligence, dedicated this year to sustainable recovery.

The conference, which was designed and promoted by the Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AIxIA), is exceptionally part of the IEEE WCCI revision for 2022, the world’s largest technical event on computational intelligence scheduled from 18 to on July 23 in Padua.

A meeting point between academia and industry, the AI Forum is an important opportunity to understand the fundamentals of ongoing developments and to be able not only to adapt, but also to anticipate the transformations, identifying the necessary tools to compete in an ever-accelerating world.

“Once the pandemic is over, we must look to the future with renewed confidence, invest in ambitious projects, realize our idea of progress by making full use of the potential of new intelligent technologies,” says Gianluigi Greco, President of AIxIA.

“However, getting out of the crisis does not only mean knowing how to deal with economic and health emergencies, but also taking into account the serious environmental threats running through our planet, realizing the socio-economic imbalances exacerbated by the emergency. for lineage, gender and territory,” continues Greco.

“The real challenge we are called to, therefore, is to interpret artificial intelligence as a valuable tool to open new horizons, capable of giving a strong impetus to the development of companies and the economy, in a perspective that is increasingly cautious. planet, to people’s needs and to sustainability,” adds Greco.

“From July 18 to 23 Padua will host the IEEE World Conference on Computational Intelligence (IEEE WCCI 2022) which brings together the three main conferences of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society in the same space: 2022 International Joint Conference on Neural Networks ( IJCNN 2022), 2022 IEEE International Conference on Fuzzy Systems (FUZZ-IEEE 2022), and 2022 IEEE Congress on Evolutionary Computation (IEEE CEC 2022)”, explains Alessandro Sperduti, Professor of the Department of Mathematics of the University of Padua and Professor of the University of Padua. Artificial Intelligence and Machine and deep learning.

“An international event of absolute importance brought to Padua to celebrate the anniversary of the University, which in 2022 celebrates its 800th anniversary. For the first time since its establishment, in addition to scientific topics covering the fields of neural networks and deep learning, differential logic and evolutionary computing, the Paduan edition will dedicate the entire day of July 20, Industry Day, to industrial aspects of artificial intelligence and computational intelligence,” emphasizes Sperduti.

“As a consequence, two national events: the AI Forum (July 19) dedicated to companies interested in artificial intelligence applications and # INNOAI (July 21), an event featuring Italian competence centers and digital innovation hubs,” concludes Sperduti. .

The meeting will be opened by Gianluigi Greco, President of AIxIA, with a speech focused on the potential of artificial intelligence in accelerating the transition towards a fully sustainable development model. This will be followed by the interventions of Vittorio Calaprice, Representation of the European Commission in Italy, and Emanuela Girardi, AIxIA board member and founder of Pop AI, with a speech dedicated to ADRA, the AI Data Robotics Association.

The plenary session will continue with keynote speeches from sponsors Google, QuestIT and Almawave and will conclude with a round table entitled “AI for sustainable recovery: Examples, projects and regulations”, Moderator Piero Poccianti, former President of AIxIA.

Joining the discussion: Giulia Baccarin, Founder and CEO of MIPU, Enza Bruno Bossio, Co-Rapporteur of the opinion at the Chamber on the European Regulation of Artificial Intelligence, Alessandro Fusacchia, Coordinator of the Parliamentary Cross-Party Group on Artificial Intelligence, Marina Geymonat, Head of the Innovation Lab SISAL, Anna Laura Orrico, Co-Rapporteur of the opinion at the Chamber on the European regulation of AI and Cristina Pozzi, COO and Head of Content of Treccani Futura.

From 12:00 to 18:30 the event will continue with 8 workshops organized by the sponsors. These include Almawave, Google Cloud and QuestIT (main sponsor), 3rdPlace, E4 Computer Engineering Spa, Ellysse, LIVE TECH – Gruppo Dst, MIPU and Seedtag. Startup: Aptus.Ai, Chiron Srls, MAKE DO, Userbot SRL and WordLift.

To participate in the event, both in person and on stream, you must register by completing the online form available here.
